Wellness Wednesdays: Mental Health and Well-being Tips for all

Heart Garden

Our thoughts play a powerful role in how we feel and act, especially when it comes to joy and happiness. We have automatic thoughts that pop into our minds, and we have the power to mold and shape these thoughts when we try. Let’s plant seeds of happiness.
In today’s Wellness Wednesday post, we will discuss how you can plant seeds of happiness.

Try this:

  1. Sit mindfully (aware), with your spine straight and your body relaxed. Close your eyes. Breathe in and out slowly and deeply three times.
  2. Think of a word that makes you smile – like hugs, smiles, joy, dance, Your Saviour - Jesus, nature. Repeat it to yourself.
  3. Imagine planting your word like a seed in your heart. Repeat your word and imagine watering the seed in your heart garden.
  4. Continue saying your word and imagine the seed opening and growing in your heart. What does it become?
  5. Finish this exercise when your happiness seed has finished growing. True happiness comes from inside you. You can plant happiness for yourself. Slowly open your eyes.

Ask yourself, there is no wrong answer:

Since completing the activity, notice your happiness meter, what level is it right now?
Who else can you share your happiness with today?
